So, another late wrap-up post from yours newly! I decided to wait till I returned back to the UK, as trying to write a blog post on my tablet for 9 weeks had become super tedious and incredibly frustrating. So please excuse the delay!
I surprised myself by reading 6 books in total this month but would have liked to have read more.. Now that I am home and currently unemployed (yay?) I will have a lot of free time to make up for this during May!
I have been reading more non-fiction books which I’m really happy about – hopefully I will keep this up!
This month I read…
The Feather Thief: Beauty, Obsession, and the Natural History Heist of the Century by Kirk W. Johnson
Everless by Sara Holland
White Privilege: The Myth of a Post-Racial Society by Kalwant Bhopal
My favourite read of April Butterfly. It was such a beautiful read and based on true events that it moved me to tears. Yusra details her life before the war and the hard journey to Germany from Syria. I devoured this book within a few days – it is definitely a book that you can’t put down.
My least favourite was White Privilege. I liked that I was able to educate myself by reading this and it has opened the doors for me to read more books on racism but this book was very essay based. I’m not an essay person so naturally, I found myself drifting in and out of daydreams.
What non-fiction books have you read this month?
